So here is the CRV for sale. Now on ebay! Fingers crossed it sells, and then onwards into cycling to work everyday! ( please note Paul Colling that this is big news for me, I know it's not for you!) Ed

Grandad's War diaries to support Italy trip!
Here are some ideas for Italy. My Grandad composed his War diaries meticulously (subsequently typed and organised by Dad), and there are many routes in Italy and places he stayed, stopped or was deployed. So here is another map trial of his initial movements during 1944. We may combine some of our movements to coincide with his movements an amazing 70 years ago!
Warm up event
We have safely returned from a basic good motorhome test. We have yet to commit to trying and using all the features inside the van.e.g. heating, hot water, shower etc, but we covered 550 miles all successfully. It has been comfortable to drive, although things do rattle and shake quite a bit. I am quite happy as when we stayed under 60mph ( the van being capable of much more), we averaged 27-28 mpg. Not that I want the whole trip to become an economy drive, but it does help!Thank you Jo and Paul,Great Grandma and Great Grandad, Dad and Kathryn (Grandma and Grandad)for a lovely trip, lots of super food and drink, and for all your help and well wishes with our mad adventure!

Lovely time at Jo and Paul's
First location done. As you can see, here we have lowered the tone and blocked the view at Jo and Paul's. A lovely trip. Thanks to some good friends for a lovely quick break and lots of helpful advice.

The 'fleet'
So here we go! We have Sunny Van. Suggestions needed for the motorhome. Sadly the number plate only suggests how we may feel after a few glasses of wine on a vinyard! Don't think you can call a van that! . Ideas welcome though!
New motorhome
Our new motorhome is lovely! The kids and I spent the night in it successfully and survived whilst only on the drive. Huge thanks and appreciation to Mark and his family (previous owners) for obviously caring and looking after the vehicle very well. Thanks also for taking a lot of time to guide the novice family through all the systems etc. Hopefully I'll learn how to 'drive' the systems properly....much akin to driving the Apollo 13 I imagine!
Keep following us though Mark, and you'll hopefully see your 'old' motorhome slowly proceeding around Europe as of August.

Sleep over
The kids wanted to sleep in our lovely new van. So here I am being stealth like in the back. Happy though. I've got wine, music and a good book. Here's to a good night's sleep.

Bank holiday in a van on the drive
Life is good. Motorhome is ours now. So what better way to enjoy the weather than sit on your own drive in a van and eat!
More photos to follow!
