Mucking about in Val de Saane

We are here. Loving the French roads and French driving.  Loving the French wine and cheese.  Loving being a rubbish English person speaking basic french with embellished flamboyant gestures.  Happy days!

Getting to Maidstone

If the rest of our European adventures end up being like getting to Maidstone, then it will be one rough year for us.  An absolute shocker of a journey. Anyway, a good night's sleep ready for an exciting day tomorrow. Kids have already said thankyou for taking them to France loads tonight and we are not even there yet.  So it's good that they are excited too.

Ready for the recce

The van had been cleaned and buffed. It's primed and ready to go on Saturday for our recce adventure with friends jo, Paul and kids. Lots of excitement here.  Lots to learn when we arrive etc. Also we have seen a van that we like.  It's a touch over our budget but I suppose that if we go for it we should make a larger sum back on resale.  Anyway, more on that later when we have thought about it.  In the meantime. ..Maidstone tomorrow night then the tunnel at Saturday lunchtime.  Yippee

Localised transport sorted for Clare too

Clare got a bike for her birthday.  I think it could be racking up some miles soon!

Ready for any cold weather!

So the kids are prepared for our venture for when life gets cold and snowy when we aim to be travelling through the Alps and into Italy come December.   Would've been daft to avoid the muddy puddles sale!

Further details of confirmation!

The children are officially off the school roll for September.  We are all legally correct so that we don't get the children on the' at risk' register and save being pursued by Interpol whilst on our merry venture.
Next stop. .. Buy a van! !!!!!!!

Free to travel!

The passports have arrived! 2 days after a ridiculous interview to confirm we are who we are, we now have the passports! We are now free to roam! So another piece of the jigsaw is in place. One less thing to worry about. Also, for our initial Easter France trip, the van has passed its MOT and has been fully serviced!

Happy days!
