The Washing Machine (a story by Jasper)

Once upon a time there lived two friends called Jelly and Bun. Jelly was grey with a long trunk and a 10cm long tail. Bun was white with a pompom on her tail, not like an ankylosaurus tail which is long and has a boulder on, I mean a pompom actually on her bottom! Bun is a rabbit and Jelly is an elephant. 

One day they went into a washing machine which was HUGE. They went in it and got locked in and said, "Arghhhhhhhh" as if they were at the dentist. They went round and round very fast with water and washing powder. Then they came out with a sense of relief but then they got pegged out on the washing line by their ears! It was very blowy! They got blown about like a football player in fast motion. The wind blew them back and forth, back and forth. 

They went to sit by the fire where it was nice and warm.

Then they got moved into a dark and gloomy room where someone was sleeping. Then in the room someone hugged them tight for the rest of the night.

Jasper's diary entry 16th November - his birthday!

Today I woke up extra early and opened some of my presents. One of them was Lavertus's flying helicopter and another one was Equila's eagle crawler (Lego Chima). We had breakfast and I had Cheerios, we put up some disco lights and partied. We got to Rome and walked to the Colosseum and went in, it was amazing. We walked to a restaurant and had spaghetti bolognese for lunch.  We went to a place which called the Pantheon which had an open roof top. We went back to the campsite and had a wonderful tea.

Jasper's diary entry - Tuesday 11th November

Today we drove off to Pisa. First we got some fuel and then we got our parking space. We walked down to the leaning tower of Pisa. The tower was tall, round and thin. We got our tickets but Maya couldn't go in so I got my ticket and our tour had begun. Me and daddy climbed our way up 294 steps all the way to the top. We saw lots of bells and the whole city.

We drove to the Aire and it cost €10. We plugged in and then had tea. We did our jobs, played Queenie, and then had a story and went to bed.

Tuesday 28th October (Jasper's diary entry)

Today we had our breakfast and I read Asterix the Gladiator. We got showered and dressed and walked over the bridge. We got to the bridge called the Pont D'Avignon. We got our audio guide and pressed all the buttons in all the right places. We all went sur le Pont D'Avignon. And we sang the song! We had our picnic by the river Rhone. We went back to the campsite and then me and Daddy went for a cycle. I did a time trial and rode one mile in three and a half minutes. We went back to the van and had dinner and went to bed.

Thursday 16th October (Jasper's diary entry)

Today we took the free shuttle bus to Barcelona. We went on the underground metro to a station and then we got 7 escalators to the top of a hill. We could see Sagrada Familia and all of Barcelona. We walked over to Park Guell and bought a ticket. First we walked up a giant hill. We saw lots of cactuses. We want into a dance arena. It had lots of tiny bits of tiles stuck on the longest bench in the world. It was like a big swirly snake wrapped around lots of rocks. It was very pretty. When I looked over the wall I could see the gutters and they were tiled water pipes and there were gargoyles that were dragons. There was a school too and I watched the children playing out.

In the garden we saw a tiled lizard and also lots of real parrots flying around. They were nesting in the palm trees. We went in a house which had circle tiles like smarties all around the windows!

We went back on the metro to Plaza Catalunya and then into a big shop where we went up to floor 9 for a cake in the cafe. After that we got on the bus and went back to the campsite for tea and a shower and a story.

Tuesday 7th October

Today we travelled 113 miles to a place called Santa de Maria. We cycled up a mountain, it was by fun going down. It was all gravelly up and down. Daddy and Maya got lost and ended up on a fast road. We went down and Daddy took photos  of me jumping off rocks. We got back down and watched the moon. It was a glorious sun set and moon coming.

Jasper's diary entry - Sunday 28th September

Today we went for a long walk from Praia da Luz to Lagos with the same people from yesterday, Ray and Anne, and Lesley and John. It was an up hill walk. Me and Daddy went up the rocky way. When we got there we had an ice cream. After that we went for a walk along the beach looking for sun cream on the rocks. We walked back along the rocky land. We walked back and we said goodbye and then we started driving to our new campsite.

The Sea

The sand was oozy.

The sea smelt like petrol.

It felt like it was trying to attack us.

It was waving hello.

It was like a dramatic cat.

It sounded like a monster getting destroyed.

I could taste the salt on my lips.

It's colours were white, green and blue.

Hello from Jasper!

Hello everybody. We are at a very nice campsite. It is 4stars which means  it is wonderful. It has a swimming pool and a games hall which has a table football and wiff waff which is called table tennis. We played it last night and I won! 

Today we are going for a short bike ride to the town. We are very close to Spain. There is a gateway to Spain in the town and also a gate to France.
