My Maths this week

I'm learning about Symmetry in my maths work. It means if you fold it together, in half, each side gets the same colour or pattern or shape.

I have made a jigsaw of a butterfly which is symmetrical.

Bunny's Day Out (a story by Maya)

 One sunny morning there was one toy rabbit called Bunny. Bunny was a girl. Bunny was wearing a little pink dress with little flowers on it. She had long floppy ears and flappy long legs. She had black eyes, a black nose and a lovely black smile. 

One morning Bunny the rabbit got put in the washing machine! Bunny did not like...water! After 5 minutes, they were off. "Ahhhhhhhh!" Shouted Bunny! Suddenly Bunny got pegged on the washing line. She was hanging by her ears!

When she was dry a bit she got even more dry by getting to sit by the fire with her friends Jelly and Bun. The fire was very hot and glowed orange and red. 

Smoke came out of the chimney. Then they were cuddled for ever by Jasper and Maya.

Colosseum

Today we went on a bus to the colossuem. It is in Rome. It ŵas made by the Romans. We have been in it and it is a oval shape. It is free for under 10 year olds.

Maya's diary entry - Wednesday 5th November

Today we travelled to a new campsite but on the way Jasper felt sick and he was sick. I told Mummy and Mummy came and Daddy parked the van. Jasper was sick all over his trousers and we went to find a campsite bu they had bad showers so we went to find a different campsite.Jasper had a sleep whilst me, Mummy and Daddy had lunch. Then we payed a game with Jasper and we had tea. We then had our story and Jasper slept downstairs and I slept upstairs.

It is 3 more days until we get into Italy. And me and Jasper are excited.

Tuesday 28th October (Maya's diary entry)

Today we walked over a bridge and we went over a busy road and on to the Pont D'Avignon. It's a bridge that is half way across the River Rhone. We listened to the man on the audio guide. We had a picnic by the river and some ducks came to eat our bread. After that we went into the town and bought some Provence lavender for Nana. Then we went back to the campsite and Jasper and Daddy went for a bike ride and me and Mummy finished sewing a rag dolly. Then we had dinner which was spaghetti bolognaise and went to bed.

Wednesday 22nd October (Maya's diary entry)

Today we went for a walk and we went to the bakers shop. We bought two baguettes and they cost 2.40€. We came back for lunch. Then we went to the park and we played on the trampoline. Then we walked to the top of the hill and we saw a windmill. It was very windy on the hill. 

On the way back down we saw a dinosaur jaw. 

We went back to play and then we had tea. I had a bath which was really a baby's bath and it was very bubbly. Then we went to bed. I was tired out!

Maya's diary entry - Monday 29th September

Today we travelled to a beach. It was a stoney beach with boats on it. We had lunch on the bay. We saw crabs coming out of their holes in the sand. We drove to a campsite in Tavira. We got off the bikes and cycled to the town. On the way back, we went over a train track and I fell off my bike and hurt my leg. A nurse came out of her van but I was fine so I didn't need a nurse.

Lost tooth!

This morning my very wobbly tooth has fallen out and I caught it. I have put it in a special jar for the tooth fairy tonight. Here is a photo of my tooth.

The Sea

The sea looked like a big green monster.

It was making the sand very wet.

It was waving hello.

It was green and blue with white curled waves.

It sounded like a tiger roaring in the jungle.

Sunday 14th September (Maya's diary entry)

Today we went to a fair in Portugal. It was really fun. First of all we saw a band, it sounded lovely. We watched some dancers. They were very good. After that we got a wooden spinning top. Then my tooth got even wobblier. We met a man called Marcus. He was a Portuguese man he used to work in an Italian restaurant in London but today he was in the show. And then we drove back to the campsite and went to the park and went to bed.

Swimming

Dear Granny and all my friends,

I have been in the swimming pool.

I have swam under the water.

I have touched the bottom and I have seen daddy through my goggles!

I have done breaststroke. 

I have done dolphin.
